Dermatology

Analysis of autoantibodies that are directed against the dermal site of the artificial blister between dermis and epidermis (split skin) can be useful in the scientific context. Different antigens have been identified and are commercially available from EUROIMMUN as research parameters.

The Dermal Binder Mosaic 1 contains four BIOCHIPs with transfected cells. These express the respective antigens of laminin 332, type VII collagen or laminin beta4. The fourth BIOCHIP contains the control transfection.

Latest research has proven the autoantibodies against these proteins in diseases from the spectrum of blister-forming autoimmune dermatoses. Laminin beta4 has been identified as a main antigen of 200-pemphigoid, while laminin 332 is relevant in a special variant of the mucous membrane pemphigoid. Type VII collagen has already been known in relation with epidermolysis bullosa acquisita.

Alongside the Dermal Binder Mosaic 1, Euroimmun also offers laminin beta4 including control transfection, separately as individual research mosaic.
